Led Zepp Cooks ferry inn

I caught the train home to Barking on a Thursday after buying the Melody Maker at Fenchurh Street. walked into Guy Norris records opposite Barking station and in the new releases box was Led Zep I. Listened to it on cans and bought it. Played it round my friends house and saw in the Melody Maker they were at the Cooks Ferry, I think the following night. Never heard of them, but they were bloody great. I thought the singer won't reach those notes live, but he did. Remember JP in his long coat, I don't think he took it off. Also remember JP playing the guitar with a cello bow and Whip. They played if I remember rightly in some sort of hall at the back of the pub. I also seem to remember it cost 25p (5 bob) to get in. Saw them several times after but only at big venues, Albert Hall, Shepton Mallet, Ally Pally and Wembley, might be more can't remember, stoned most of this period. What a great time.
