The Heat

We made our way into the place on through a mob of pan handlers asking, "spare change, man?" in time for the opening act, Savoy Brown, whose set I honestly don't remember. Either they were unmemorable, or I'm just getting old. Jethro Tull was memorable, and I vividly recall Ian Anderson stork walking around the stage. Great music. By the time Led Zepelin's set began, the place was filled to way over capacity. We stood by the speakers for about half of the set, but in the the middle of an extended version of You Shook Me, the July heat and crush of hundreds of sweaty freaks got to my friend Randy, and we got to outside just in time for him to vomit on the street. A memorable experience.
Aaron Ruso knew a big draw when he saw one, and he packed the place shamelessly.
