Afternoon Concert

I attended in the afternoon... no doubt, a smaller crowd than the evening concert (not a disadvantage). To be honest, I barely remember the Lighthouse segment.  Santana was simply incredible.  When Led Zeppelin started playing, the guy who attended with me walked-out... said the volume was too loud.  (Can you imagine!?)  As I recall, they opened with Communication Breakdown.  If we hadn't already been sitting there, we would have been knocked to the floor!  Jimmy page wore an off-white Edwardian style frock-coat sort of thing... a haunting figure with his violin bow on guitar.  The volume WAS indeed cranked... can't imagine that those who were hugging the speaker stacks for the entire set are still hearing, if they're still alive.  Non-stop mass-passing of little, home-rolled cigarettes.  (One might conclude that fire-code enforcement was somewhat less than robust?)  Unforgettable!
