Kinetic Playground Oct 19, 1969

I was a local college student attending The Kinetic Playground for the first time. Zep was heavy - sometimes bluesy - even some space rock with Jimmy Page on bowed guitar. Definitely a fine Zep performance. But Santana was even better that night - searing guitar coupled with infectious Latin rhythms and driving drums. More vital than Woodstock - the audience craved more. Santana's 10/19/69 set is among the greatest rock performances I experienced in Chicago during the late 60s and early 70s.
