Zep Charlotte Show - April 7th, 1970

I was in attendance at this show ... it was the first rock concert I ever went to! I was in the 7th grade and was seated right on the rail behind the stage. In that posted photo of Page with the pink trousers on, I am likely one of those silhouettes in the background. My memories of the show are vivid ... I recall it being really loud and sounding really different from their albums. It was kind of scary for a 12 year old ... all the hippies and pot. I bought a poster of the band which I still recall in detail. I also remember Plant scolding the audience who were chanting for "Whole Lotta Love." He said something like, "We'll play what we feel like!," but ultimately they played the song. I saw them again at the Charlotte Coliseum in May of 1972, had far better seating as by then I was a much more "sophisticated" concert-goer. ;-)
