Originally scheduled for two shows, as a makeup date for the Eagle Rock Festival. Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant: "(The group) didn't complete their Sunday night concert in Honolulu until well into early Monday morning. In addition, being English, we were not aware of the Labor Day holiday which did not allow for air freight shipments and also our sound system had to come from Dallas, Texas". TOP THE BEATLES?

Reading the reviews of this show by the so called "journalists" i don't know what or where they were. The show was a bomb"Timothy Crouse",and the audience response was mostly unenthustiastic, dead. We felt slightly cheated.Well i've been listening to this show for over 30 years and i bought the complete show on cd about 12 years ago for $80.00(thats right kiddies no free downloading back then) and it is as exciting, raw, rocking as it gets. The audience is out of their little skulls!! One of my all time favorite Whole Lotta Loves, the end part where Robert screams Loveeeeee is unbelievable!!
I put it right up there with 9/4/70 LA and Offenburg 3/24/73 as the best.
Also the Dazed is very similiar with the BBC 71 version, definetly ahead of its time. What a complete event, the announcement that Paul McCartney maybe playing there soon seems quite anti-climatic, its as if they're saying sorry all we have for you tonight is some band called Led Zeppelin.HAH!! I challenge any band to follow this performance.TANK
