Notes:

News Report: Led Zeppelin soared, pardon the pun, into Dallas Memorial Auditorium earlier this week, with a capacity crowd sold out a good 24 hours before their Tuesday landing.

The evening was everything a Led Zeppelin fan could hope for. Even if lead singer Robert Plant was admittedly not in the finest voice that evening, his spirit and esprit d’corps of the Zeppelin crew more than compensated. Jimmy Page was in a wildly creative mood, handling the guitar with gutsy abandon.

Drummer John Bonham and organist John Paul Jones rounded out the meaty quartet. (by P. Wuntch, Dallas After Dark)

My memory

I saw the concert that Aug 24th nite in Big D. After Zeppelin played a while, I remember Robert Plant saying they were going to play a song from their new album (4th). It was really cool - as they played "Stairway to Heaven", I remember the spot lite shining on the stage like as a symbol of the stairway to Heaven! That was the first I heard of that song, and when I listen to it even today, I still remember that scene. It was a fantastic memory!
