This was the first concert I ever went to. I was 15 and my friend's older brother had a spare ticket and asked if i wanted to go. I'd heard Led Zeppelin of course, but at the time they were just another band that I liked. There was no support act, so I can remember the excitement as the lights went down and then the assault on the senses as the opening to 'The immigrant song' thundered out of the speakers. I was entranced from then on and still count it as the greatest concert I've ever seen. The acoustic section - Jimmy page with his bowed guitar during 'Dazed and confused' - 'Stairway to heaven' and the rock'n'roll medley in 'Whole lotta love'. I was lucky enough to see the 14th January 1973 show at The Empire which was great too, but I suppose nothing compares to your first time. Here I am 36 years later and Zeppelin are together again. Unfortunately, my friend's brother doesn't seem to have any spare tickets this time! Anyone else?
