Salisbury City Hall

I organised this gig for the band. It was probably the smallest venue on the tour. In spite of that, Peter Grant & Micky Most (whom I met in their office above Millets in Oxford Street) said it was a goer and plans were made.. Richard Cole invited me to the Wembley show early on in the tour so I new what a treat was in store for the Salisbury fans. Jimmy was ill and the gig had to be postponed from the 15th until the 21st December. Support was by Martin James's band, Marble Orchard and Bob Cooke's Band (Ian Gillan's proteges,) JERUSALEM. This was the most exciting concert Salisbury had ever seen or heard. Supper afterwards in the Provencal Restaurant. I think that Jimmy Page was driving a long wheelbase Land Rover and John Bonham a rather fine Rolls Royce Convertible. John very generously drove Tim Simons, one of the concert stewards home to Bemerton as he'd missed the last bus.....happy days
