Newcastle City Hall Concert - Dec 1st 1972

The aura of Led Zeppelin was unbelievable that night. The atmosphere was electric, and as a15 year old who had skipped school in order to queue for a ticket months before, it all became clear why, when the darkness and the sound of whistling fans as the band took to the stage, was shook with the sudden explosion of sound and light as the band opened with Rock and Roll!

Sitting on the steps of City Hall after the gig, my ears still thick and ringing, waiting for my lift home my dream came alive, when out of the main doors at the front of City Hall appeared Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham to transfer into a limo. I was stepped over and being brushed by the greatest rock and roll band the world is ever likely to see.

This band just captured everything about life for teenagers in the 70's --- it was a special moment in life for many...and will never be the same again.
