Kings Hall, Aberystwyth, 1973

I had a front row ticket which I swopped for one several rows back because some guy wanted a close up of Jimmy Page's guitar playing. Just as well as I would have been deafened in row 1 !

LZ played non-stop for about 3 hours.

At the start of their set the lights dimmed and Robert Plants' voice announced "Ladies and Gentlemen a little surprise for you!". Then they broke into Rock n Roll followed by Black Dog. Fantastic!

The rumour in town was that they played the much inferior Kings Hall as opposed to the Univeristy's Great Hall because they had been refused entry to as student disco by some University jobsworth on the grounds that they were "not student union members" !
