Caird Hall Concert, 27th January 1973.

Only my 2nd ever gig (The first was The Faces at the same venue - wonderful too!), but over 36 years on it lives vividly in my memory as one of THE definitive events in my life. From the opening of "Rock and Roll" thundering out of the darkness of the stage it was simply glorious from start to finish and confirmation for me that this was indeed the greatest rock band of all, on stage as well as on record (I had received L.Z. 4 and worked my way backwords through the catalogue as fast as my pocket money would allow!!). I'm now sadly into my 50's but they are still the first thing on to the c.d. player and - frightningly? - sound as fresh now as they ever did. I'm the right age and lucky enough to have seen most of the really great bands, in venues where you really are with the band, and this is still far and away "The gig of my lifetime".
