May 17th 1975 - My first Gig

My first ever gig - Aged 17. Went with my mate Nick. I was really spoiled for a first gig, only the Zeppelin Knebworth gigs & Pink Floyd at Earls Court on the Pulse tour came close to this gig. Have always been a big fan of the blues, (Willie Dixon's music was a big influence). Most memorable tracks had to be In my time of dying, Trampled, No Quarter, Tangerine, Kashmir (of course), When Bonzo started Moby, I remember looking at the clock, it was exactly 10 pm and when he finished it was 25 past, even now it makes me feel knackered just thinking about the effort bonzo put into it. The ending to Stairway was just sublime, with the long pauses between the last three words, you could hear a pin drop. Finishing with WLL & Black Dog was just awesome. From then on I've been a devotee, my only regret was not being able to get to see the O2 gig.
