Munich Olympiahalle Concert 5th of july 1980
Dear Sirs!
Beeing my first "real" rock concert (then 16 years old) we were heading for Munich with
something like stage fright and curiosity in our stomaches and minds: Led Zeppelin!!
We didn't have the best seats (on the left side of the stage in the middle rows), seeing
eveything but not having something like a good sound!
At first, there was a real good sound, but it seemed to us, that someone shut down some
speakers pointing to the side rows.
So we always had to guess what songs you were playing.
Sadly, this warmly welcomed concert of yours leaves behind a mixture of having attended
a historic moment in rock history (beeing the last concert before the Berlin one) and not
having had the chance to properly hear how Led Zeppelin sounded live; therefore this concert
mainly remains a visual remeberance in my mind- and all of my friends, who accompanied me.
Of course, this did not affect our affection to your music.
The new DVD's you made in the last years are really good - made for the people, who want
to see pictures of your band (not beeing possible in my youth) and listening to your music, not just beeing made only for the money!
yours sincerely, Gunther Erben
