The Yardbirds became LZ only later
At the time of this event the band was still called The Yardbirds from the recent Scandinavian tour with the new band members that Jimmy Page put together after the original Yardbirds band disband in July 1968. This new band was forced to rename and became Led Zeppelin within the next few weeks.
Their first gig as officially Led Zeppelin was on 25th October at Surrey University. At this time the relatively new Surrey University was in the throngs moving from the old Battersea, London site to the new one in Guildford, Surrey. Due to this there is a lot of speculation on where the venue actually took place. The promotional poster announcing this event still called them The (new) Yardbirds but states the address as being Battersea. This is still being researched but it is most likely to have been in Battersea.
