My memories of this, my first concert at the age of 14 are;
Queuing around the block on a Sunday morning when the tickets went on sale. The price was capped at £1 for Cardiff whilst the rest of the country had to stump up £1.50! Zep evidently had a soft spot for us boyos.
All the amps and speakers being located on the front corners of the stage. My view of the band for 90% of the show was limited to an occasional peep of Robert Plant’s moccasin! There was a heavy presence of uniformed security guards-and we were kept well and truly confined to our seats.
When Houses of the Holy was released I recognised that the melotron solo referred to in the set list above was actually an early airing of No Quarter. This was the encore when the security disappeared and I actually got a view of the band. Nevertheless an awesome event and in my mind the best subject for a first concert
