Thee Image was a coverted bowling alley with all of the lanes stripped out and standing room only. The stages were on the center back wall. I was a regular at Thee Image and I guess over half the people there were on acid. The billiards room was large and empty and renamed the meditation room. You could buy day-glo paint in the Head Shop (old pro shop) and then paint on the walls in the mediation Room. There was some incredidle art on those walls.

Zeppelin was opened by a local house band named Fantasy (brothers BIll & Bob I think) they had a hit back then called Stoned Cowboy. That was the night that I became a die hard Zeppelin Fan. I think I saw them again a few years later at Pirates World in Dania. Great memories (and lost brain cells) from the Thee Image. I saw almost all of the big shows from Mothers, Blues Image, John Mayall, Zeppelin, and a lot more.

I was there unbelievable and 13yrs old WOW

Nothing prepared me for this concert. We were young 14yr old girls trying to be cool by going to a very popular venue called "Thee Image'. The reason for going was NOT the Zeppelin show.....but because of the raw intensity of the show and the unbelievable sound emanating from the stage....I have been a fan ever since.

This was the first American tour and meeting and interacting with the band was so much more a part of this show. The band stayed at the "Newport" hotel, which was about as Miami Beach as it gets, ocean front big pool and it still stands today....holding many memeories!

Thee Image and The World were the hippest places in 1969. Anyone remember Pirates World? The Allman Bros, Melanie, Sweetwater & Grand Funk Railroad were just a few of the greats to perform there. Admission was free with a day pass to Pirates World or $4.00 at the gate.

Thee Image, WOW. That was a long time ago. Just to think that I head Zeplin play in a converted Bowling Alley for $2.00 a night on 2 consecutive days. I spent a lot of time at Thee Image during those days and it provided many great memories like this one for my senior high school year.

This page has actually confirmed what I had thought for all these years, that I DID see Led Zepplin at Thee Image way back when. I thought maybe I was a little nuts.

I was at the Pirate's World show and saw Page after a show at Thee Image. It was the Jeff Beck Group with Rod the Mod. Jimmy broke out the bow after the last set and went at it. You have more brain cells left than I, thanks for posting and in such detail..

I saw Janice's comment and I, too, was at Thee Image about every week.

Before that, at The World.  I remember the band, Fantasy, Blues Image, NRBQ... and all the other top bands coming in for a show.  But the house bands are the ones I went there to see.. All of them great!... I also remember a beautiful blonde girl who was dating Billy Robbins, lead singer for Fantasy.  She often wore a silver minidress.. I never knew her name, never met her, but have never forgotten her.  I'd stand there and just look at her...and think how beautiful she was. : )

Funny how we never realize at the time, when we're 18, 19, what we'll always remember, later... Those were really fun days.

I was ther for both nighys. Sat on stage right in front of Pages Rickenbacker Transonics. I couldn't hear properly for a week after and now suffer from severe hearing loss. After the concert all members of the band mingled with the crowd which numbered at about 200
