I would like to express my deepest interest to purchase this stick if it will come up for sale. It would fit nicely into my collection as I have a signed copy of the first album that origins from this very date. Please contact me - will pay top money. Any others with sticks, picks, posters or signed material please contact me. Cheers

Hi, I was at this concert with my girlfriend,(Our second Zepp concert at City Hall in 7 months) sitting in seats H7 and H8. After an amazing show and the final encore, John Bonham threw his drumsticks into the crowd, one to the left and one to the right. There ensued an almighty scramble for the stick. Fortunetly for me, it missed all the outstretched grasping hands, hit me on the arm and dropped at my feet. I bent down, picked it up and slid it up my sleeve. I quickly ushered my girlfriend out of the hall. She couldn't understand why I was not in the thick of the melee we left behind. I still have the drumstick and I have often wondered if it is possible to authenticate, oh, and who got the other.

This was my first ever live gig and cost 8 shillings (£0.40p). I went along as a callow 14 year old with a school friend and hadn't a clue what to expect. Led Zeppelin II had been out for a couple of months and the same friend allowed me to borrow it for one night as long as I brought it back next day. As you did then, the sleeve was crucial and I had poured over it and memorised all the graphics and words. It is over 35 years ago so I cannot remember much of the detail but the sense of power and energy that came from the performance is still with me. I didn’t even know then that such things as drum solos existed so ‘Moby Dick’ came as a bit of a shock! I must have been to over 300 rock gigs since then but this is up there in the top 5.

Hi, not sure when your comment was listed but I appreciate your views.
With regard to selling the stick ,it could be possible in the near future as I feel it should be displayed somewhere for more people to see. The stick does not have his name on it. The sale would also include the ticket from the show and two original photos taken by me with my trusty Instamatic camera. Cheers Eddie
