The first show of the 1980 Tour and a very dynamic and good one. Jimmy, as always on this tour, flashes between brilliance (Since I've Been Loving You, Stairway To Heaven) and mistakes (White Summer/Black Mountain Side). The encores are great, especially Heartbreaker inside of Whole Lotta Love ... a treat!

Most thrify show of the tour. Standout performer is Bonzo. He's pushing hard, great fills - testing the unique little fill here and there (see SIBLY). Rest of the band comes out firing as well - as if they have something to prove. Dinosaurs? Surely not!

Little mishaps happen here and there (IE Heartbreaker). Jimmy loses grip on his Les Paul. Robert completely misses a verse of Stairway to Heaven - making the band and most importantly Bonzo do a split second save. However, they are few and far between.

Brief show compared to the extended Whole Lotta Love jams that came later. Its tight, fast, passionate and designed to show the new wavers that Zep was pushing hard still.

They did a damn fine job of it. Splended opening night.

Standout cuts - Kashmir, In The Evening, Since I've Been Loving You, Trampled Underfoot and Achilles Last Stand.

Elite 1980 show.

Hi folks!
I saw the band in Dortmund the one and only time in my life and it was the best of the many live acts I have attended.
To my view there are or were many excellent bands like maiden, thin lizzy, queen and lots of others but no one reaches the virtuosity and expression of Led Zeppelin.
Ivam 46 now and I really hope you guys will make up your mind, that it is unavoidable for you to perform some gigs in Germany in the near future.

Waiting for this event I remain
