FINALLY found the exact night I was there. I remember Robert plant's outfit as if it was yesterday & this is the night I was there!!

GREAT show...in my opinion, they were more "ON" this night then many of the other 77' Forum dates. Plant hit all his lilting high notes, and seemed to be entirely in his mystical zone that night. The drum solo of "Moby Dick" went on FOREVER that night, but, Bonzo rocked it! I remember the green laser light show around Jimmy Page as he played his dual-necked guitar, which is right when rumours were swirling that he was the devil, so, it made it all the more astonishing.

I remember Robert Plant introducing his wife who was sitting in the 1st few rows in front of the stage. I also remember a giant beach ball being thrown around the audience & one of the giant bodyguards at the foot of the stage, grabbed it, and held it. At which point, Robert Plant stopped the song (I think it was "Stairway to Heaven"?) and took it from the bodyguard and threw it back to the audience while saying "Let the little children play."

I remember all the lights(Bic Lighters) flickering in the audience, and I remember the sexuality of a 15 year old girl being awakened by Robert Plants hips! Damn that boy can sway!! GREAT night...I will never forget it.

LONG LIVE LED ZEPPELIN!!

I had just turned 18 when I had a once in a life time opportunity to see the greatest band of all time, in their prime, all four together and......................I can't remember 98% of that evening I attended the concert.

alcohol, drugs, and my young foolish choices are the reasons why.

There was Elvis, then the Beatles,........ but nothing compared to Led Zeppelin.
I became a Man that night. Summer of 1977, June 22. LA Collosiem
17 years old, born and raised in "LA". Pucca shells, long thick hair,
tight flaired jeans, I was built for speed. A Senior in a LA suburb High School. Workman High. Gas was $1.00 a gallon. Me and my buddies crammed into my 1975 Dodge Van, stuck in traffic on I -10 listening to Achilles last stand (Presence) amd The Song Remains The Same all the way to the Gig. (8-track!) It was a special time. Steve J., Conrad, if your reading this, Dudes, that night will live forever! I am 48 now, own my own business, three daughters, a Wife of 19 years. But if I could go back to that special night, packed house, lighters glowing, floor seats, green laser beam cast down center stage on Jimmy, the energy, the sheer power and presence they commanded that night! It was like a frieght train on rails! And they never let go.
Top to bottom, to this day, thee BEST concert I have ever attended, I have seen a lot since, but nothing has compared. Thank you, Robert, Jimmy, John Paul and God bless you "Gonzo"

A Fan to the end.....

A really erratic night, especially from Jimmy. He totally botches The Song Remains The Same, and then delivers some excellent playing on Sick Again, Since I've Been Loving You, and No Quarter. Achilles Last Stand is rushed and Jimmy almost forgets the solo, throwing everyone's timing off. How they recover is quite exciting though! The Stairway To Heaven solo from him is exquisite. All in all, the most erratic LA show, probably the worst one out of the six nights but still a very good show. The rest of the band seems fine.

June 22nd 1977 Los Angeles Forum: Led Zeppelin live!:

I was there, all of 15 years old, my first concert. One of the most awesome, amazing, memorable live shows I have ever seen! LOUD! Very LOUD! It was almost a 4 hour set, no opening act, all Led Zep. WOW! I will never forget. I have the bootleg album from that show as well as the next night's show. They had played on these dates in L.A. in 1977: June 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27.

At that time, no one had ever sold out so many consecutive shows at the Los Angeles Forum before. Sold out in no time. I ditched school that day with a few friends so we could wait in line at Ticket Master (then is was called Ticketron). We waited all day, and finally got our tickets for $5.50 each (ticket prises were $5.50, $6.50, $7.50). Our seats were just about as far away from the stage as you could be, but it did not matter. At 15 years old, I was seeing my idols, and they fucking rocked! Never again will there be a show like that. Absolutely amazing!

If you haven't already done so, get the Led Zeppelin DVD, a two disk set. It is great, especially disk two, with awesome footage from 1975 and 1979. Also a must have is the Page/Plant "No Quarter - UnLedded" DVD. Sure to blow your mind.

Enjoy.
