Don, my oldest brother, took me to this concert. It's our mothers b/d. He had bragged about going to see first Cal Jam. The best I could do was, I saw Hawaii Summer Jam, then later
I saw BTO at the HIC. It was such a great show, you could feel the seat vibrating from the music, people were on their feet, dancing in the aisles, and if I recall, the only band that I've seen in concert, that did FOUR encores! SO, if BTO ever comes to our neck of the woods, we're going. Then he tells me that he has tickets to see Led Zep, but was planning on taking his friend Gene. Day of the concert, he comes by, says that Gene couldn't make it, how soon can I get ready? SHET!..I'm ready NOW! The atmosphere at LB Arena was the same as at HIC, but now, its to see LZ!!! Needless to say, I got too blitzed to recall how many encores were done, but its one of the best I've EVER seen. THX for the memories! THX bro for the ticket! Rock on!!!! JR

One of the best, most visceral shows of 1975! The sound is crisp and bassy and really adds to the show. The opening string of numbers is brutal and fast and this may be one of the best versions of No Quarter ever! It is savage and the improvisations are excellent. In My Time Of Dying was dedicated to Bob Dylan: "An old work song. A long time before Mr Zimmerman listened to it in the Village back in the Sixties." The reason why The Song Remains The Same was repeated is that Jimmy Page broke a string. Trampled Underfoot moves like nobody's business and Dazed And Confused, dedictaed tonight to Roy Harper (:Wherever you are Roy, don't stay in thatstate too long!"), is a glorious 1975 version in full flight. An exquisite Stairway To Heaven closes the show and the relentless and surprising inclusions in the encores end a show that seems leagues ahead of the sluggishness of just the night before!

I saw them on this date many years ago and by far it was one of the great memories I have.  Thank you for having such a wonderful band all those years ago so I could have such a beautiful memory.  Most sincerely, sheila maki
