Led Zeppelin's music was the sound track to my personal journey from being an awkward teen to a young adult. I have wanted to thank them for truly making and playing the best rock music of that day and that status remains as far as I'm concerned. I had always wanted to see them live and in 1980 managed to put together enough money to by a ticket and pay for the hotel and gas to see them, in I beleive it was to be Chicago.

My excitment was hard to contain and I remember counting down the days until the US tour was to start. Then the sad news hit the radio waves: John Henry Bonham had died. I remember feeling shocked, angry and a variety of emotions that one feels when you lose someone. You see, while I never had the priveleage to see them live or meet them, they were like family.

The 8-tracks played constantly on my home stereo and in my car, and they had taken up residency in my heart and soul. So thank you Led Zepplin the awards are way past due. I would also like to wish Jimmy a Happy Birthday as I too share the same birthdate Jan. 9th.

There have been many great bands, but one has towered over all of them and that band is "Led Zeppelin"

There isn't much to say about Led Zeppelin that hasn't already been said by someone else, but here goes anyway. Not only are they the greatest band to ever exist, be conceived, be remembered, be enjoyed, they are, when you break it all down to its most basic form, the only band that even matters. I'd call them cult-like, but it would be an insult. It's closer to a religion with Zeppelin. The things they brought to the rock and roll table, as it were, are innumerable. The recording of the drums to capture depth; the layers of guitars; the wailing vocals of Percy; the production enhancements Pagey brought to modern recordings. Listen to Zep 1 and it sounds like a 60s record; then listen to Zep 2 and it is the first modern sounding rock record. The way they changed how to book and promotoe tours so the artist got to keep most of the money was revolutionary and ended years of unfair business practices toward musicians. No one did any of it as well or as large as Led Zeppelin. The O2 gig showed they could still do it better, some 27 years later, than anyone else can if they want to. Now what the hell do those of us who couldn't get to that gig have to do to get Plant to agree to a world tour?

No award can ever honor your band enough. You guys were all experts and you provided us with some of the deepest and rawest feelings that music can provide. I am so lucky to have lived in the same era of your great productions..!!

Hello Led Zep- thank you for getting together again. You were as great as ever! It was very special seeing Jason take his father's seat and his playing was superb. Robert, you can do it. You like to change and evolve which is cool. It will be new again. Go for it. You've still got it. Maybe a mini tour in your favorite places. So you guys don't burn out to fast. One show a week maybe? Ten to fifteen shows. What have you got to lose?

What else can be said?

Well deserved. A world tour is the natural progression. Zep should savor the thought of obtaining 5 million new young fans born since 1980. White hot talent, an obvious labor of love, bring it on in 2009.

Just wanted to say to you Robert is aware of what the fans want, and he is not holding out to be an ass. He has other commitments which will take him about two years to honor...give the guy a break.

yes, i am a teen and i would absolutly LOVE to have a chance to see led zeppelin perform live. i would pay thousands of dollars just to see them on tour. i hope plant will forgive and forget the speech and move on. i realize that plant is in the middle of a project and on tour but i would love to see a reunion tour of led zeppelin after plant is done with his project. :)

I second that notion! Since when did Led Zeppelin cater to the rich! They could at least offer us peasant fans a DVD of the concert!
