I was there, paid $12.00 for a ticket to sit backstage cause all the good seats were sold out before I could get to Ticketmaster.  Had a good time as I remember.......or do I?

I was 10 years old at the time of this concert and all i can say is thank god we have these clips of this group. There will never be another band like them. I was getting ready to get tix for the late 1980 shows in Philadelphia, but we all know what happened. My sister was supposed to see them in 1977 at JFK Stadium as well. Unfortunately this was their last Phila performance. When Elon Musk creates a time machine, i want to attend this concert.

BTW, I did read that Larry magid stated Zeppelin where going to return in summer/fall of 1975 but Plant's leg injury cancelled that show. Does anyone know if tix ever went on sale or what venue. Seems like if you got to see them in Philadelphia, you were very lucky.

My friend owed me twenty five bucks and gave me the ticket for the debt.  I think the original ticket was like five bucks.  When the concert started a bunch of us ran to the front and stood in front of the stage.  A large bouncer guy kept battling us through the whole concert.  It was an amazing experience, especially when Led Zep played Kashmir, which had not yet been released.  Amazing!!

"THE SOUND OF PHILADELPHIA" WAS LED ZEPPELIN..8TH DAY OF FEBURARY, 1975 (SPECTRUM, SOUTH PHILLY) SPECTACULAR!!!

Great. One of my favorite periods is captured on this film. Sound as good as possible. The band sounds tight and powerful despiting Robert's eternal struggling with his voice. Good video, though.

This was my only concert at the Spectrum with up front floor seats. Standing on my chair while experiencing "Stairway to Heaven" was a moment I will never forget.

I was at this show, in the sixth row, about 20 feet to the left of where this camera was - amazing to see this after all this time!

A couple carloads of students came from Stockton State College near Atlantic City to see the show. Our seats were up high, but to the right of the stage and we could look down on the show. We didn't have much pot but a little dexadrine. It gave us a little juice for the show.
Zep had a quadrophonic sound system that was fairly new. Jimmy Page could bounce his guitar echo to the speakers in the back of the Spectrum.
They opened with Rock and Roll, but the sound wasn't quite set up and the band wasn't warmed up, so it sounded a little flat. But they soon warmed to the Philly crowd and got amped up. Black Dog was awesome. Dazed and Confused was the feature song and it was amazing.
The new Physical Graffiti songs were awesome. Kashmir just put us in a trance. We left the show feeling like we all just dropped acid, and we all said we felt that way. Ahh, those were the days.

That was the best concert ever... First time anyone heard Physical Graffiti and it was surreal, so loud you could not talk or hear the person beside you when the music stopped. Robert Plant was fighting with the phila police who came into the front row, pegging them with and winding up the microphone. Fans were tossing m80s and it was sureeal with a 30 minute jam by John Bonham that if you were there... You remember.... Just surreal... Saw the Who at the spectrum too... No comparison.

bob's picture

I was there with around 20 friends and there are 2 things that stick out they were selling beer in giant  cups and the most memorable was the John Bonham solo with his hands .WOW

Kathy darlin, You should check out my comments on the Spectrum venue page and see if I got it near right - wish every kid could have a like time before the world takes it out of us - I agree, nothing since was ever quite the same... Yea, they really should do it again for the new "kids" AND for themselves. I think Allison Krauss could belt it out alongside Plant if she put her mind to it - what a sweet sight that would be!!! PS: I live out west in Utah and Montana these days..........

hello! you probably aren't aware of it, but there are many people out there who would love to watch the film you made.
Would you be willing to share it with other Zep fans?

eddiel's picture

You got some 8mm footage...then please transfer it and send it to the board so we can all see it! :-)
