Swan Song Inc. Official Press Release - March 24, 1975

LED ZEPPELIN "PHYSICAL GRAFFITI" LP NUMBER ONE AFTER TWO WEEKS. ALL FIVE PREVIOUS ZEPPELIN ALBUMS RETURN TO BILLBOARD CHART WITH BULLETS  IN HISTORY MAKING OCCURENCE!

Led Zeppelin's new album, "Physical Graffiti," is number one in all three music trades, Billboard, Cashbox and Record World, as well as in England, Australia, and several other countries around the world.

In an even more extraordinary development, all five previous Led Zeppelin albums, Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin (the group's fourth album) and "Houses Of The Holy" all went back on the Billboard charts with bullets this week at the following positions:  Led Zeppelin I - 83*, Led Zeppelin II - 104*, Led Zeppelin III - 124*, Led Zeppelin (IV)- 116*, Houses Of The Holy - 92*.

No other artist in history has ever had six albums on the charts at the same time.

Furthermore, two weeks is the fastest that any album has ever gone to number one. Both Billboard (where the album went to number three the first week) and Record World (where it had a debut at number five) announced that "Physical Graffiti" had the highest first-week chart number in their history. "Physical Graffiti's" chart performance is all the more extraordinary because it is a wo record set with a retail price of $11.98.

Zeppelin completes their 1975 American tour this week with three concerts at the L.A. Forum. on March 24, 25 and 27th. All 35 concerts on the tour -- which began on January 18th, have been sold out.

"Physical Graffiti" is on Zeppelin's own label, Swan Song. That label is currently one of the hottest in the business. In addition to the Zeppelin album, Swan Song has three other albums on the charts, The Pretty Things "Silk Torpedo," Maggie Bell's "Suicide Sal," and Bad Company's "Bad Co." A new Bad Company album, "Straight Shooter," is scheduled for release later this month. It is believed that no other label started by a rock group has ever had four albums on the charts at the same time.

Combined with the Zeppelin albums -- this makes nine albums on the charts for the young Swan Song organization. Swan Song is owned by the members of Led Zeppelin and their manager Peter Grant. In the United States it is run by Vice-President Danny Goldberg and Attorney and Administrator Steve Weiss.
