In March 1973, I was stationed with the US Army in West Berlin. On March 19, I attended the Led Zeppelin concert, and have photos that I personally took from the front row. They are high quality and beautiful. Also, I have the concert poster and my ticket stub. Would the Led Zeppelin site be interested in them?
Since 1967, I have attended hundreds of concerts. The opening chords of Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" remains the post powerful musical experience that I ever had to-date. Being in the front row the "spontaneous combustion" of that song literally blew me backwards. It was a wonderful experience, and is an indelible memory.

From July 1971 to July 1973, I was assigned to the 1946th Communications Squadron at Tempelhof. I went to many concerts at the Deutschlandhalle during my 2 years in Berlin and Led Zeppelin was one of the best. This concert was also my most memorable. I got busted. No, not that kind of busted. I told my German girlfriend that I had to work that night. I did this so I could go see Led Zeppelin by myself. I wanted to be very mobile so I could take pictures with my new Pentax 35mm camera. As it turns out, and to my embarrassment, she went to the concert anyway and discovered from good friends of mine, I was also there. I didn’t run into her that night, but she forgave me because we just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. I’m still looking for the slides I took that night.

I was in the Berlin Brigade at this time too: 2nd of the 6th, 3rd of the 6th, and at the time of this concert, the 298th Army Band. This was a great concert - I remember it vividly. No pictures, unfortunately... I fronted a band called Transom at the time (flute, vocals). Kind of acid rock style. I'd say you saw us at the Volksfest in '73 - every GI went to that.
Anyway, thanks for bringing back the memories of this great Zeppelin concert. And post them photos!

Hey you lucky G.I you better put them pictures up where everyone can live YOUR MOMENT in ZEP HISTORY. I for one would love to see them, I had the pleasure of seeing them on the end of the 1st half of thier 77 world tour. They were 90 mins. late but played for four (4) hrs. to the largest indoor crowd in history, and no one has ever come close to it to this day. 82k+ paid attendance, with 4-5k getting under radar somehow. Pontiac,Michigan 4-30-77. 9:30 on stage to a roaring crowd 1:30 or later to an atmosphere of well ROCKED hippies. LOL. I was behind the stage for their encore in the 1st tier for rock and roll and trampled underfoot. It was so perfected you would have thought it was recorded. I got to see all of them leave by gas latern light and walk out to their limos. just the way the 1st The Song Remains The Same ends as they drive away, back to the airport.

Paul, I was in the 1946th comm squadron too. I worked on the electronics at the mobile RAPCONS at Templehof. I was there from 1/71 to 11/73. My Supervisor was Sgt Seavey. My wife and I recently saw "The Music of Led Zeppelin" Concert in West Palm Beach.

David, I believe I remember you, Herb Seavey and I were good friends. He passed away about 10 years ago and Heidi passed away about 5 years ago.
