Note:

News Report: Led Zeppelin soared, pardon the pun, into Dallas Memorial Auditorium earlier this week, with a capacity crowd sold out a good 24 hours before their Tuesday landing.

The evening was everything a Led Zeppelin fan could hope for. Even if lead singer Robert Plant was admittedly not in the finest voice that evening, his spirit and esprit d’corps of the Zeppelin crew more than compensated. Jimmy Page was in a wildly creative mood, handling the guitar with gutsy abandon.

Drummer John Bonham and organist John Paul Jones rounded out the meaty quartet. (by P. Wuntch, Dallas After Dark)

I saw Led Zep the first 3 times they came to Dallas Memorial..This concert was the first time I had ever heard Stairway To Heaven and my recollection is that Plant came out with an acoustic and sat on a stool and played it...We thought it was fantastic and it was the first time we remember Plant or Led Zeppelin ever including an acoustic, the Memorial auditorium also resembled a flying saucer due to the light show and the way it was shaped........I also saw Led Zeppelin in 1969 at the Lewisville,Tx Pop Festival at the Devils Bowl Speedway on Hwy 35, it is now called the Texas Pop Festival and had Janice, Johnny Winter and many other big names............

I saw the concert that Aug 24th nite in Big D. After Zeppelin played a while, I remember Robert Plant saying they were going to play a song from their new album (4th). It was really cool - as they played "Stairway to Heaven", I remember the spot lite shining on the stage like as a symbol of the stairway to Heaven! That was the first I heard of that song, and when I listen to it even today, I still remember that scene. It was a fantastic memory!
