R&R 4-4-75: Led Zeppelin hosted a bash for Pretty Things, a brother group on Swan Song Records last week at the Hyatt Regency in downtown L.A. Revelers found the center table decorated with two swans carved out of ice and another ice carving of a torpedo (Pretty Thing's new album is titled "Silk Torpedo.") Surrounding the ice sculptures were mounds of Thai food (a favorite of Led Zeppelin's members) specially catered in for the festivities.

Atlantic's PR man, Bob Emmer, tried to find a young lady to sit atop the torpedo to duplicate the album cover, but couldn't find a candidate for the frigid perch! Plenty of Zep friends were on hand to welcome the new group including Bad Co., Manhattan Transer, John Prine, Danny O'Keefe, Bobby Womack, Buddy Miles, Keith Moon and company President, Mr. Ahmet Ertegun, who flew in from New York to attend the event.
