This was about my fourth or fifth concert ever. I was 14. I remember that Jimmy's twin-neck received its own applause when the guitar tech put it on the stand. I was in the cheap seats behind the band with my next door neighbour and musical mentor Steve Innes, and halfway through the gig the band turned the gear round and played to us. Large cheer from those of us back there...

Later in life I got to play with Robert, when he was a guest of Fairport Convention, where I was a multi-instrumentalist for eleven years. He came and played a 40 minute Zeppelin set in the 1993 Cropredy Festival and I got to be Jimmy Page. I also played on his solo album Fate of Nations and I met him again at Cropredy this year (2008) when he performed Battle Of Evermore with Kristina Donahue (daughter of guitarist Jerry), as part of a 40 year tribute to Sandy Denny. Top chap.

This 1971 show changed my life forever, and I have made a living from music since I left school. Incidentally I saw a great gig by Deep Purple in the same venue on Decimal Day, February 1971.

Yes i remember in the encore medley they did a short segment of 'Tobacco Road' by the Nashville Teens i think Jim had played on the original recording during his session days they also did 'Shakin all Over' it was a fantastic night which as forever stayed in my memory.I bumped into Jimmy recently in Holland Park we have a mutual close friend so we had a long chat he is really well and very serene.

I was invited by a school friend, Simon Heaton, Good on you, to go and see a band that at the time I had not even heard. Made the right choice and went along not knowing what to expect. They walked on stage, Plant apologised for having a cold, then went into Immigrant Song and put in one blistering performance. It was a totally life changing experience and introduced me to a world of 'underground' music that I didn't know existed. Zeppelin have been Gods ever since. Thanks.

Zeppelin the biggest band in the world, my girlfriend Jackie was student union president at Burnley college decided to get tickets, we scoffed, no chance. On the night of the concert a bus load of us from Burnley had the best seats in the house, why I never married that girl I'll never know.
What a concert, straight into Immigrant Song, we went nuts. This was the highlight of the many bands we saw over the next few years.
A great night, I think the support was The Motors could someone confirm.

An extra gig after the Free Trade Hall sold out. The sound was poor and Bonham's drum kit kept moving foward and the roadies kept pushing it back.

My mate Jack, got us tickets from Hime and Addison in Manchester, I think they were about £0.50 or £0.60 each, we did n't have good seats but after going to the loo's we managed to get better seats.

I remember a storming set "Immigrant song", "Black dog" and a great acoustic set in the middle, it was the first time I had seen Zep live I was 18 and it was, and still is the best concert I have been to.

It was great to see footage from Zep concerts from that year on " How the West Was Won DVD,really brought back memories.

Was this the tour when the violin bow came out, I remember the roadies having to sit by the drum kit to stop it from creeping and Robert Plant went off to change his shoes (the stage was tiltid for some reason)
