As a young teenager I had the priviledge of attending this show.The band had released their first 4 albums and had yet to release "Houses of the Holy." Every song they played rocked, and Plant's vocals mixed with Page and Bonham as another instrument. To this day I have yet to see a single concert that surpasses seeing Led Zeppelin at their peak. I will never forget this show!

Back In 1972 Here in San Diego, Ca. I saw the BEST concert I believe I have ever or will ever see in my life. Two rows from the stage I was able to see Jimmy Page hit ever string on his double neck guitar as Stairway To Heaven was sung by Robert Plant who by the way has a fantastic range of notes he is able to reach. I loved them then and I love them now. Always will Be there no. 1 fan. I know there songs by heart, I listen to them every change I get. They call me the "Senior that loves to rock"! Thanks for letting me finally tell the night that took my breath away. Peace

Led Zeppelin in San Diego

I was 15 in 1972, and it was the summer between 10th and 11th grade. My friends and I bought tickets to see the great Led Zeppelin. I think they cost around $5.00 each! On the night of the concert, we took the city bus with excitement to the San Diego Sports Arena. When we were going in one of my friends was stopped for what Security thought was a counterfeit ticket. They took him and all of us to the Security office while they called my friend's parents. It turned out the ticket was legit, so as a courtesy for our inconvenience the Security team escorted my friends and I to the front of the stage. We got to see Led Zeppelin up close, about 10 feet away from Jimmy Page! It was General Admission festival seating and there was a rush to the front of the stage. We were getting crushed against the barrier, so we slipped out of the crush and found some good seats near the stage to watch the rest of the concert. It was an event I'll never forget.

I was there-riots outside as usual for those who couldn't get in, throwing bricks and flipping cop cars!!!!yesssssssssssssssss! Superb show which wsa stopped in the middle because someone set the stage curtain on fire.Imagine if that happened nowadays-they would've run everyone out and ended the show, but then it only took a 20 minutes break to put it out, then theycame back out and finished after a scolding from Plant.
