My First LZ Concert

This was my very first Led Zeppelin concert I went to. It was probably the one that really hooked me. It was absolutely great and I will remember it the rest of my life. I am old now and a lot of my old rock'n roll friends have traversed that stairway to heaven. I still crank up Led Zeppelin every day and one day my spirit will leave me too as I look to the west.

Yep...it was good...especially after we made a "stop" by Trinity Park for a little "motivation".
I wish now that I had seen this show "straight" because a lot of it is now gone from memory...with the exception of Page trying to do the splits or something and almost falling on his butt...never missed a note though.
A lot of my friends are also gone...damn drugs...now I am a drug counselor, but I still love have to get the led out. Take care and Peace :o)

Exactly the same with me. I saw Led Zeppelin in 1975, & I was only 14-yrs.-old. I can remember most of that concert. But, I got to see Led Zeppelin again in 1977, or 1978? In Dallas, I think? We were old enough to get ALCOHOL then. I didn't forget EVERYTHING, from just smoking pot. But, with the addition of the Beer, & every GREAT concert I saw is a BLUR. : (

YES, in Texas when I was a teenager, the legal drinking age was 18-years-old. So, at 17-yrs-old WE had fake ID's, & bought whatever we wanted to, & went into night clubs. THAT WE HAD NO BUSINESS BEING IN! I don't drink anymore. I did enough of it before I was only 23-yrs.-old.

Also my first Led Zeppelin concert, I was 13 years old and hooked. I still have one of the handbills.

3rd concert overall I had the opportunity to see Grand Funk in June '70 and Hendrix May '70.

I was 14, and the Led Zeppelin Ft. Worth concert was my first ever concert! I went alone, becuase no one I knew my age had the guts to go to a big rock concert. But it had been my mission to go, ever since I purchased my 1st Led Zeppelin album, LZ II, in October of 1969.

I had got a mail order ticket in the upper balcony, about half way back on Page's side of the stage. I remember well how the Ft. Worth concert started. Page was arched over his suburst Les Paul, and began grinding out the beautiful notes to "Heartbreaker". The sound system was quite adequate, and filled the arena with the band's sound. I had never hear anything so glorious in all of my life. The bar was set so high for an opening number that I do not think was ever surpassed...

"Bring It On Home" and "What Is And What Should Never Be" were highlights. But the absolute gem of the night was a masterful and perfect on every level, "Whole Lotta Love." Robert "owned" that song that night.

What a way to break in a concert going career.

I went to my 1st. concert at the Tarrant County Convention Center, in Ft. Worth, TX. When I was 14-yrs.-old. To see LED ZEPPELIN. I & 9 of my high-school girlfriends. WE spent the night in line outside of the T.C.C.C. 2 months before the concert. There were thousands of fans waiting for tickets inline overnight! They added a second show, 2 hours after they started selling tickets! Because they had already SOLD-OUT the 1st. concert. This was in 1975. I still have many ticket-stubs from those concerts. IN PERFECT CONDITION! I picked-up the ticket-stubs my friends were throwing on the floor. I left Texas for many other places. When I was 20-yrs.-old, & I only returned to visit my parents. I live in BOULDER, CO. now, & will for the remainder of my life. I would have attached pictures of the Led Zeppelin TICKET-STUBS. But, I don't know how to do this from a Chromebook. OH, & when I was 17-yrs.-old I saw the FAMOUS ROLLING STONES concert. From the Wil Rodgers Colosseum Theater. In 1978, & the Stones made a movie from that concert. Ft. Worth/Dallas was one Hotspot for concerts! Back in the day.

There were ALWAYS Scalpers

There were ALWAYS Scalpers outside every single concert. Selling kids outrageous amounts for concert tickets! That they only paid $7.00 for. This was happening at my 1st. concert, & is still going on. I saw the ROLLING STONES, in 2019 in Denver. They SOLD-OUT our huge Football stadium. Just amazing! Anyway, those Rolling Stones Scalpers were asking, & getting $1000.00 for good floor seats. COME ON! Where are the COPS? While this illegal, & criminal stuff is happening? In Denver, they are not arresting people of ALL ages for Smoking-Pot. Thank God.
