On February 14, 1969 I went to see LZ at Thee Image. It was the night before my wedding. I was 21 years old. Sorry to say the hippy wedding lasted only through Woodstock, but, my relationship with the band forever. Shortly after the wedding, all I could play was Dazed and Confused.

First Zep concert
April 5, 2013 9:00pm Bill

One of the all time greatest concerts ever. Zep put on a fantastic show, complete with Page crankin out his solos while wandering back and forth and leaning side to side on the small stage next to Plant screaming his ass off under a single very bright spotlight. There were only a few dozen people there and all were out of their heads. No one knew who these guys were at the time. I will never forget the intensity of this night. Zeppelin were capable of blowing everyones minds on that night and they did. From great drum solos to unbelievable blues jams, Plant groaning into the harmonica and just the tightest 3 piece band imaginable, it was amazing. Seriously. Think about it. Hearing "How many more times" for the first time ever played by the guys right after they released the album. Biggest thrill ever.

Just browsing the web and found this page. I was at the concert! Unbelievable a converted 'bowling alley' became an incredible place to see 'history being made'. We tripped out in the psychedelic rooms, smoked, so much felt at peace in this place. Thinking ack now in 2014, what happened? I so much miss the days I was able to experience such great music.

I was there. 4 rows from stage front. huge night. first time live. mounds of amplifiers. last song, all amps were amped out. Thee Image was a great place for a concert. it was a bowling ally. At the end of the alleys the ceiling dropped down. It was like being infront of a huge horn. When Page started the last song he ran down the bank of amps and turned them up to max. I nearly maxxed out from the wall of sound. It was lovely.

Thee Image and Led Zeppelin
September 23, 2016 11:58pm

I worked at Thee Image before it was open to the public (a former bowling alley we were gutting), and afterwards.  I was there opening night and met The Mothers of Invention earlier in the day before their evening set.  They played two nights in a row.  I saw many other bands during the short time this wonderful venue was open.  I saw Zeppelin both nights. Thee Image Club came about after Thee Experience, a regular hangout that we spent much time at, enjoying many top bands.
